Activities 3

Dying Eggs
What better way to celebrate Easter than to dye eggs! Bright colors and glitter make for some beautiful eggs....we’ll just ignore the cracks left behind from the not so gentle approach to dipping them. :)

Learning Shapes (Triangles, Circles & Squares)
We spent a few days incorporating shape activities into our routine by focusing on circles, triangles and squares. We sang songs, completed worksheets, went on a shape hunt around the house and even prepared our food to resemble the shape of the day!

Cheese, Whole Wheat Pita, All Natural Turkey & Banana

Science Experiments
Magic Ice - Melting & Color Mixing
Pour water into 3 bowls. Add food coloring to each bowl to make red, yellow and blue water. Place ice cubes in a shallow dish. Discuss the 3 colors. Use an eye dropper to pick up the colored water and dribble over the ice. Talk about what happens to the ice (melts). Show how mixing two colors of water makes a new color (mix yellow and blue to make green or red and blue to make purple).

Dancing Raisins
Pour club soda into a glass. Drop in a raisin. Watch what the raisin does (rise and fall). The bubbles from the club soda stick to the raisin causing it to float more easily...just as a life jacket allows a person to float.

Kid Approved Snack
Fruit & Spinach Smoothies!
Banana, assorted berries, milk, yogurt, spinach leaves (shhh don’t tell the kids!) and ice. These smoothies are great. Kids love them and I get to sneak more vegetables into their day without them knowing!
